In
recent times the property/housing market has been very
buoyant. This has attracted many new entrants in to the
market including estate agents, property management/letting
agents, property developers, removals and storage companies.
There has also been an increase in service providers e.g.
mortgage advisors, builders, interior designers and
decorators.
Although the market has been booming, it is facing many
problems.
Many
of these businesses continue to suffer from a poor public
image because of consumers' perceptions of the quality of the
service they provide and whether or not it represents good
value for money.
With
new entrants in to the market, the businesses are under
constant pressure to become more competitive. In many cases
they have to reduce the fees to remain competitive, and this
has led to lower profit margins.
As
more and more members of the general public are using the
Internet as a source of information and for finding the most
competitive deal, there is growing pressure on the businesses
to take advantage of the Internet themselves.
Small businesses that operate in this market are constantly
seeking out for ways to promote their business
services/products effectively and efficiently over the
Internet.
